About Our Florida Rehab Center

Florida substance abuse statistics illustrate the scope of the crisis that affects individuals and families across the state. When you reach out to Lakeview Health, you’ll find a wide array of treatment options that we have designed to support the needs of our patients. Whether you’re struggling with an addiction due to a mental health condition or an underlying trauma, we offer a range of treatment options.  In doing so, we strive to give you the support you need to overcome your addiction and live a healthier, happier life in the future.

Gender-Specific Rehab Programs

Men and women have unique challenges with addiction. For instance, men tend to use drugs and alcohol for pleasure rather than to manage pain or discomfort. Conversely, women who struggle with substance use tend to attempt to self-medicate chronic mental health conditions or medical ailments. Men and women also have different challenges to their sobriety. Men desire for others to see them as strong, causing them to hold back in therapy sessions. Alternatively, many women struggle with underlying trauma. This trauma may lead them to be reluctant to share the circumstances behind their addiction with a mixed group.

At other treatment centers, their staff may take the easy route for both men and women and group them together. Unfortunately, this can lead to many individuals struggling to come to terms with their addiction and not getting the treatment they need. However, at our treatment center location, we strive to separate men and women as much as possible so that each person receives the care and support they need. To that end, we offer gender-specific treatment.

Treatment for Men – The Star

Jacksonville, FL

The Star is our male-specific facility that specializes in meeting the unique recovery needs of men. The sad fact of the matter is that addiction strikes more men than women, but because women are more likely to seek treatment, it also kills more men. Furthermore, men are more likely to struggle with polysubstance abuse and battle antisocial personality disorder than women. As a result, it’s critical to find treatment for men that addresses their individual challenges.

Learn More About The Star Here

The Star focuses on the impact of socialization and experiences in the treatment process. It also creates an environment for them to participate in enjoyable activities without alcohol and drugs. We shape our treatment plans to help men understand their addiction and their treatment by showing them that they aren’t a failure or weak when they enter treatment. We recognize that this attitude can lead to relapse and slow any progress that they have made.

In addition, we show the men in our treatment program that they don’t have to be self-sufficient, stoic, or invulnerable. When they’re in a treatment program surrounded by male patients and counselors, men don’t feel like they have to pull away from treatment in order to protect how others see them. We can also help men learn how to create healthy, reliable friendships with other men in recovery.

Treatment For Women – The Rose

Jacksonville, FL

Drug and alcohol use has been on the rise for women of all ages. Unfortunately, until recently, a significant amount of the research about addiction was directed primarily at men. This lack of research may have led many women to feel isolated in their substance use. They may have thought that they were an outlier or that other women do not struggle with substance use. Both thoughts are untrue. In fact, millions of women misuse opioid medications, such as:

  • Codeine
  • Oxycodone
  • Fentanyl
  • Morphine
  • Hydrocodone

Learn More About The Rose Here

When you come to our addiction treatment center location for women, you’ll find that you’re not alone. The Rose provides custom treatment for women in need of help with addiction and mental health disorders. It creates an environment ideal for healing and recovery. We can also direct our conversations towards subjects that women primarily battle, allowing you to get the support and closure you need. These treatment programs can also address any underlying trauma that may have led to your addiction. Furthermore, with the help of our group therapy program, you can develop healthy and nurturing relationships with women who are also in recovery.

Our Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program

Many of those struggling with addiction also struggle with chronic mental health conditions. In some cases, these conditions cause an individual to self-medicate, meaning that they attempt to control their symptoms using drugs or alcohol. Alternatively, their substance use may have caused a mental health condition to develop over time.

It is critical to address both disorders simultaneously if the patient wants to stay sober for extended periods of time. Choosing only to treat the mental health condition will leave the person’s substance use unchecked. When an addiction continues over long periods of time, it can cause new or worsening mental health conditions to develop. On the other hand, when a person chooses only to address their addiction, they may find that they don’t have the tools to manage their mental health. As a result, they may find themselves turning back to drug or alcohol use to control their mental health condition.

With the help of a dual diagnosis treatment program, however, we can address both conditions concurrently. In other words, we’ll give the patient the tools to manage their mental health while also helping them overcome their addiction. At our Florida rehab center, we can address a range of mental health conditions.

At Lakeview Health, we recognize the rising number of co-occurring disorders. We also acknowledge that when you don’t seek treatment for both the mental health condition and addiction, it is highly likely that you will relapse. As a result, at our addiction treatment center locations, we offer dual diagnosis treatment.

What Amenities Are Available at Our Florida Rehab Program?

At our Florida Rehab program, we’re pleased to provide a wide array of amenities to the patients in our programs. For instance, we welcome our patients to come to our spa. This area allows both men and women to learn to relax without using drugs or alcohol. It can also relieve the aches and pains that can accompany withdrawal symptoms.
In addition to our spa, we offer a range of amenities to allow our patients to develop healthier habits. For instance, we believe fitness therapy is a critical factor in your recovery. At our wellness center, patients can use our state-of-the-art exercise equipment and participate in workout plans that one of our athletic trainers will develop for their needs. We also offer a swimming pool, which allows for both fun and exercise.
In addition, each of our patients will receive a semi-private room, providing fellowship and the opportunity to heal with one another. Patients will also be able to enjoy nutritious, home-cooked meals at our cafe.
