Join Dr. Lantie Jorandby, our Chief Medical Officer for an exclusive event to identify strategies to aid patients suffering with chronic pain. Chronic Pain is a widespread issue that often leads to addiction and can trigger relapse. Learn how to understand the neuroscience of pain, pain theory, the history of opioids and how it all relates to how we treat this complex medical disease.

Details:

Chronic pain is common in addiction and It’s important to address chronic pain for all patients, but especially those in recovery. The issue is complex and is considered a disease that needs new and multiple approaches to lessen the dependency on drugs or alcohol to alleviate the symptoms.

Pain has roots in the same neurochemical & neuro-biologic pathways in the brain as addiction. Hence, both disorders can co-exist & exacerbate each other. Treatment for chronic pain should be multi- faceted in an effort to reduce the alarm system in the body & brain that is a constant occurrence with this disease.
