Course Summary

The Imposter Cycle effects an individual’s substance use disorder. Identifying Imposter Syndrome and how it manifests must be addressed in order to provide appropriate treatment. During this webinar, Philip Warrick, a licensed therapist at Lakeview Health, will define Imposter Syndrome, identify the Cycles, key character traits, and prevalence within the community. The discussion will investigate the onset of individuals’ transition through the Stages of Development with an emphasis on the social and family contributing factors. Lastly, he’ll identify and discuss how a clinician can appropriately work with patients facing these challenges, including therapeutic approaches and treatment strategies.

Course Objectives

  • Define the Imposter Syndrome and identify the key character traits.
  • Examine the differences and similarities between Imposter Syndrome, self-worth, and overconfidence.
  • Provide therapeutic approaches and treatment strategies for patients.
