Dennis Cain is a licensed marriage and family therapist who earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2004 and his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Diego, California in 2006. Prior to joining Lakeview Health, he served for over 10 years as a clinical evaluator and treatment provider for the Athens-Clarke County DUI-Drug Court Program, VA Vet-Center, and Athens Justice Project. His background in addictive diseases spans over 15 years and includes working as the program director for addictive diseases and intake/emergency services at a community mental health clinic that served 10 counties in the state of Georgia, as well as working in various private practice settings where he has advanced trainings and certifications specializing in trauma and marital and family related issues. Besides his formal education and training, he is a retired Navy veteran and draws great personal strength and insight from his own sobriety for over the past 25 years.
