Lakeview Health Launches Partnership with Sulzbacher Center
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 6, 2018) – Lakeview Health, a nationally recognized addiction treatment facility, announced its Jacksonville facility will participate in a weekly food donation program with Sulzbacher Center, the leading provider of comprehensive services for the homeless population in Northeast Florida. “We had problems with leftover food and thought we couldn’t do anything with it, so it was thrown away. I knew there had to be a better option and started doing some research, which is how I found Sulzbacher Center,” said Clayton Tressler, Lakeview Health’s executive chef. “They are a well-established charity reaching a large population of people in need. It felt like a great fit for Lakeview’s resources and we are happy to start making a weekly contribution to help feed our community.” Lakeview Health donated 177 pounds of food to the Downtown Jacksonville-based center. “The intake of people is busiest in the middle of the month,” said Damian Johnson, Sulzbacher Center’s sous chef. “We serve 1400 – 1600 meals on any given day, but sometimes it could be as high as 1800. The support we receive from places like Lakeview Health keeps our operation going and fulfills a basic need for so many people.”
