When life challenges have become too much to bear, you feel depressed and overwhelmed. Sometimes the depression is so deep, you find different ways to escape the sadness and pain. However, you might embark on a darker path of alcohol and drugs. The further you go down this path, the more pain you feel and the more chaotic your life becomes. This leaves you wondering “Where are you, God?”

God is Here for You!

You might feel like God has abandoned you in this dark time, just like King David in the 13th psalm (“O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way?”). The truth is you have strayed from Him. But He is always there for His children and is waiting for you with open arms. The amazing thing about God is that it does not matter that you have strayed or that you have been living a sinful life. Go back to Him and let Him into your life again. He provides you with what you need to get your life back on track. You can find ways to cope and the pain and chaos that surrounded you will lessen.

Give Your Burdens to God

When you have God on your side, you can handle anything. Psalm 55:22 says “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” If you accept God’s light and love into your life, he won’t let you be crushed under the weight of your burdens. So let go of the alcohol, drugs and depression and let God handle it. Drug Rehab for Christians is an addiction recovery program with onsite medical detox provided by Lakeview Health Systems.
