Course Summary

Did you know there is a difference between gender-separate and gender-responsive treatment? During this webinar, Dino Liverano and Sarah Franklin, clinical managers for the men’s and women’s facilities, respectively, will discuss the differences. This presentation will offer attendees with the research, clinical theory, and anecdotal evidence to support the use of a Gender-Responsive approach in the treatment of addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Dino and Sarah will dive into the benefits of using a gender-responsive approach with individuals while in treatment and early recovery.

Course Objectives

  • To identify specific trauma-informed gender-responsive treatment approaches in early addiction recovery
  • To differentiate how a gender-responsive model impacts change in patients in early recovery
  • To identify the practical considerations for implementing this model of treatment
