Philip C. Hemphill, PhD, LCSW
Dr. Hemphill is a licensed clinical social worker who has practiced as a clinician, manager, consultant, and executive leader for the past 26 years. He’s considered a thought leader in the behavioral health/addiction industry and has developed premier national programs for the evaluation, treatment, and monitoring of individuals with these needs. As a leader, he has always been committed to assuring clinical efficacy while working collaboratively with organizational and funding leaders. He has been the lead person for innovation and implementation for provisions of patient care services, policies and procedures, recruitment of talent, and fidelity measures. He’s pioneered some of the assessment and treatment of licensed professionals with co-occurring disorders and co-authored a book with Marty Martin, PhD in 2013 entitled, Taming Disruptive Behavior published by American College of Physician Executives (ACPE.) He’s currently authoring a second book on Integrated Health in Addiction Treatment. He has presented papers and workshops at national conferences and recently published articles in the field of trauma, personality disorders, professional sexual misconduct, and addictions during the past 26 years. Currently, he is a Professor of Practice at Tulane University School of Social Work where he has taught for the past 20 years and Assistant Clinical Professor at LSU Health Sciences, Department of Psychiatry for the past 18 years. He has had faculty appointments at Jacksonville University and Loyola University as well. He received his master and doctoral degrees from Tulane University.
