The effect on patient care was immediate when Jacksonville-based addiction treatment center Lakeview Health appointed Roy Serpa as President & CEO and a new servant leadership model was adopted in January 2013. Lakeview employees who were so critical in the transformation were recognized in a recent ceremony, with top performers receiving special honors. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the 2014 Employee of the Year, Mylaliz Lopez. Ms. Lopez, was selected by her peers for her dedication to patients and process alike. Her contagious positive attitude makes all of those around her love coming to work each day. In recognition of her work, Lopez will spend 2015 in a new, fully loaded C300 Mercedes Benz with a designated Employee of the Year parking space. “This past year I’ve never felt more ready to tackle the challenges that each new day brings,” stated Lopez. “But when you receive a gift like this, you feel like your role is truly noticed and appreciated.” Servant Leadership is a model where leadership works to empower and support employees in the company mission rather than promote the traditional top-down philosophy of decision-making. Recognized as a successful model in many business categories, it has been successfully applied to the behavioral health and addiction treatment category in providing patients the best level of care. Clinical treatment innovation at Lakeview Health has greatly expanded with overall patient recovery and satisfaction improving dramatically as a result. “No one person can take on the disease of addiction alone,” added Roy Serpa. “Our solution is to bring in the brightest people we can possibly find and give them the tools and resources they need to do their best work. I could not be more proud of Mylaliz and everyone at Lakeview.”About Lakeview Health
