Addiction Doesn’t Discriminate

There is a stigma that addiction affects homeless people who are living on the streets or individuals who struggle economically. The truth of the matter is that addiction to drugs and alcohol does not discriminate and the number of white collared workers who on the surface appear to have their life in order struggle from alcohol abuse or drug addiction. Chuck Rotenberg is a Canadian lawyer whose life was nearly destroyed by his severe cocaine addiction. He lost his marriage, damaged his relationship with is children, and let his work suffer all because he was unable to control his cocaine addiction. After going to addiction treatment Rotenberg has slowly begun to get his life back on track. He is now aware of how dangerous his addiction is as well as the severe consequences that come with it.  Rotenberg credits addiction treatment for teaching him that even though cocaine was his drug of choice an addict will use drugs, gambling, prescription pills or any other vice that will help them to not have to deal with their reality. In drug rehab Chuck Rotenberg was able to learn the necessary tools to cope with life without chemical dependency. Drug and alcohol addiction is more than capable of getting a hold of anyone no matter how in order they seem to have their life. Without the proper professional help provided by an addiction treatment center drug and alcohol abuse can be nearly impossible to overcome. If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction it is never too late to get help. With the proper assistance, guidance and support anyone is capable of overcoming an addiction and going on to lead a life that is free of chemical dependency.
